Almudena Pimentel

I don't believe in coincidence. In fact, I think everything happens for a reason, and that you are reading this is one of them. Welcome to the place I feel most secure, the one where I can forget about everything that happens around me and simply be myself. Art with its many sides is what makes me understand and want to figure out the world I live in. I think we already have something in common, don't we?
When I discovered musical theatre, I knew I wanted to become a professional. Even though my theatrical journey started through scenography, very soon I discovered that it wasn't making me happy. I've always been curious, empathetic and a perfectionist, and I felt that with those qualities I had to tell stories on stage. One year later, I was admitted in RESAD to study musical theatre. This would change my life forever. I accomplished my dream of studying an Erasmus in another country (American College Dublin). Also, studying in college made me discover so many things about me. It has left me a community of teachers and friends who support me through my professional journey, and it gave me experiences, tools and disciplines that I wouldn't have discovered in another way. Nowadays, I help other students through their application process to study in RESAD.
I am very passionate about meeting people from different countries, speaking in English, puppetry, dance, musical theatre, verse and scenic fencing. I also love cinema, makeup, collage, painting and writing. Well… a few art expressions.
I currently perform in educational theatre in English and sing for the smaller ones. I am a soprano, part of NOX choir and I write theatre critics in El pequeño espectador, a magazine specialised in theatre for the youngest kids and teenagers.

What does art mean to you?
